Ghanaian Shatta Wale eyes Jamaican success

Ghanaian deejay Shatta Wale continues the drive to make a mark in Jamaica with Life and War, his latest song, produced by YGF Records.

He has collaborated with top producers Notnice Records on the song Like A King, and appears on the remix of Alkaline’s It’s All About The Money.

“I think I have done a lot in Ghana and there is a need to penetrate into certain strategic markets across the African continent and the rest of the world. The focus now is the Caribbean and how to make an impact there with my music," said Shatta Wale.

Tevin Richards, head of YGF Records which operates out of Ocho Rios, said he linked with Shatta Wale through Kimberley Campbell, his Jamaican agent.

According to Richards, the artiste "actually fits in the Jamaican industry easily with his sound and hardcore lyrics."

Born Charles Nii Armah Mensah in the Greater Accra Region, Shatta Wale has performed in Europe but never been to Jamaica.

He established himself in his homeland through songs like Dancehall King and Enter The Net.
