Reduced views for Popcaan since Mavado battle, Alkaline views continues to increase
It has been a blow for Popcaan since ending the fued with Dancehall rival, Mavado. Popcaan views and ratings have dropped significantly, days after the dancehall entertainer ended the feud and issued a public apology to his fans via his Instagram account.
Fans of the 'Unruly Boss' and his musical rival Mavado were at odds over the post as some believe Popcaan was throwing in the towel and giving up on the lyrical war currently taking place between the two.
The Gully Gad and Popcaan’s beef started in July when Popcaan released his new single ‘World Cup’ which surprisingly took aim at Mavado’s ‘Big League’ single, saying “Wi nuh know bout league cause we name World Cup/ and the p***y dem nuh like when wi hotta dan thermos / they doah like when ghetto yute f**k the world up / weh them ago do now when the Benz pick them girl up.”
Mavado then responded with the release of ‘Go Fi Dem’ a Popcaan diss track.
“A wa do you likkle chicken / You think mi war finger licking / Is a gyal mi use trick him / When time she hug up and a kiss him / Anyweh wi aim, deh suh shot a kick him / Freak bwoy a you face gyal a sit in / Yeah the fire hot in a the kitchen / Shoot dem fi 3 life pippin,” Mavado deejays.
The lyrical battle continued until Popcaan, weeks later decided to end the war. The reason is still unclear.
Over the past three months, Popcaan has uploaded 3 videos/songs to his YouTube Vevo channel, none of which received a million views.
