Despite Vybz Kartel's dominance, Alkaline maintain street cred

Vybz Kartel has been further cementing his legendary and his "King of the Dancehall" status with the release of a number of new tracksand his "King of the Dancehall" Album for 2016.

However, Alkaline is maintaining his calm, releasing a number of hit tracks, alongside his "New Level Unlocked" album for 2016. 

Alkaline has only performed in Jamaica twice since his rise to stardom, and is not known to frequent the local party circuit. However, his songs are in heavy rotations at these parties, "Afterall" being one of the favourites.

Recently, popular sound system selector, Boom Boom received lots of cash in "Money Pullup" for Alkaline's "Afterall" track at the weekly "Boasty Tuesdays" event.

The "Billboard" selector posted a video of the most recent "Boasty Tuesdays" playing the Alkaline track :
