Drake to sign Popcaan to OVO label

Dancehall artiste Popcaan is to sign a deal with Canadian rapper Drake’s OVO Sound label in 2019.

Drake made the announcement at Popcaan's Unruly Fest held in Lyssons, St. Thomas, Jamaica on December 22, 2018, where the rapper made a surprise appearance.

Since the start of 2016 Popcaan and Drake have worked closely on several projects including the 6 God’s controversial ‘Controlla’ single which made rounds online after the ‘Ova Dweet’ deejay’s verse was excluded from the Rapper’s chart-topping ‘Views’ album. Since then, Popcaan released several exclusive remixes on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio, performed at OVO fest 2016 and starred in Drake’s ‘Please Forgive Me’ short film released in September.
