Injury Forces Bolt Out Of Olympic Trials

Six-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt will not run in the men's 100m final at the JAAA/Supreme Ventures Limited National Senior Championships after complaining of a hamstring injury.

He is unlikely to feature in the rest of the meet.

Bolt earlier won his semi-final in 10.04, after recovering from a poor start to finish ahead of Senoj-Jay Givans, 10.05 and Jevaughn Minzie, 10.07.

The sprinter had reportedly complained about tightness in his hamstring after Thursday's preliminary round win and seemed to have aggravated the injury.

He had complained after that run that the athletes were carried out to the track too early and that caused him to run his heat 'cold'.

The JAAA selection policy allows for medical exemptions in cases where athletes can prove that an injury has prevented them from competing at the trials.
